Default Uneaten Rat Question

Millie, my ball, refused her first meal ever tonight. I left it in with her, after I couldn't get her to take it right away. Sometimes it takes her a while to want to eat. I checked in a couple hours later and the rat was still there. It was a freshly pre-killed rat. I have it in the freezer now and planned on throwing it away tomorrow. But rather than that, would it be ok to save it and re-thaw after a week or two? Or do you think since it sat out for a while it might be no good? I have no clue.

I think you'll be okay...I just wouldn't thaw, refreeze, thaw, refreeze..

Ok. I am wondering since I know it doesn't take long for decomposition to start and bacterial growth and what not. Since the rat sat in a warm cage for a few hours, I wondered if that would make the meat unsafe.

If it were me, I wouldn't trust it. If the rat had only been out for an hour, I'd probably freeze and retry once more, but after a couple of hours, the innards would start becoming unsafe.
